🌈 HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!! 🌈

In anticipation of this month-long celebration, @KaneCAndrade, one of our favorite photographers reached out to us earlier this year with a brilliant idea 💡: What about creating a PRIDE Campaign that was FULLY run by queers? Queer models, queer makeup artists, queer photographer, queer creative direction, etc.

Our thoughts? YASSSS!!

We've seen / heard about some unjust legislation surrounding the LGBTQIAS2+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Two-Spirit) community recently, and thought bringing the beauty of the community to light through an inclusive photoshoot would be a great way to not only give the community some representation, but also help bring awareness to some of these issues.

ABOUT THE SHOOT

Our 2021 PRIDE photoshoot was carefully curated by the man, the myth, the legend... @KaneCAndrade who is a transgender man based in San Francisco, CA! Kane came up with the concept, found and secured the location for the shoot, hired the help of a diverse group of Oakland, CA based queer models, strategically planned the theme.... pretty much everything!

If you've seen any of Kane's photography, you know his talent and attention to detail is seriously unreal. To prep for our PRIDE shoot, Kane scoured the SpiritHoods webstore handpicking styles to match some colorful LGBTQIAS2+ flags he was planning to include in the shoot. What's more, Kane then found the purrrfect queer models to accompany the respective PRIDE flags. The shoot featured a diverse group of queer models, including a non-binary transgender femme, a cisgender lesbian woman, and two transmasculine male models.

We're thrilled at how everything came out and hope the LGBTQIAS2+ community and its allies enjoy the art! Without further adieu, checkout our 2021 PRIDE Photoshoot with the one and only, @KaneCAndrade.
